Hi, I'm Devan, and I am the Chief Blogger behind disKCovery! Originally from rural Missouri, I have made my home in Kansas City since 2012. I am a proud alum of both the University of Central Missouri (UCM) and the University of Central Florida (UCF). I am an avid sports fan who loves to support my collegiate and professional teams alike.
I am happiest when I am hopping on a plane or train, watching a good flick, or sharing a few drinks or a good meal with my family and friends.
I am a “Fountain City Foodie” through and through and have dined at over 100 of the city’s famed BBQ joints. My all-time Fountain City Fantasy Meal would be to enjoy a Joe’s Kansas City Rocket Pig with a side of their fries, and a couple of KC Bier Co. Hefeweizens, while watching batting practice at Kauffman Stadium with the late, great Buck O’Neil. Hearing just one of his stories would be the ultimate dessert.
An expert on little, but always ready to chat about much, I am simply a guy who relishes the chance I have every day to be a tourist in my own city. I love learning about where Kansas City has been and uncovering all this is best about it now.
From time to time, my wanderlust may take me away from here, but the vast majority of what I share here keeps it local.
