Just admit it. We all have one. That random drawer that is the catch-all for those items that don’t quite belong anywhere else. After all, condiment packets, rubber bands, receipts, pens, and spare change all need a home. I love being a tourist in my own city. A large part of that is exploring Kansas City’s lush culinary scene. I am very passionate about supporting KC’s local, small businesses. This is especially true of restaurants, diners, bars, breweries, distilleries, coffee shops, food trucks, and eateries. Fountain City Foodie is where I share these experiences.

We have all heard the expression to “get off your soapbox” which of course, dates back to the days when speakers would elevate themselves above a crowd by standing on a wooden crate. While this is a personal blog site, Soapbox pieces are those where I take a moment to dust off my wooden crate, step up on it, and grandstand about an issue that I am passionate about. In other words, this is my version of an editorial column.
