This time of year, the only way to decide anything is via bracket. This 68-pit, March Madness-style bracket featured top KC BBQ joints, storied blue bloods, surprise upsets, and Cinderella runs. The inaugural KCQ Crown truly had it all.

Since Henry Perry passed in 1940, Kansas City barbeque has lacked a consensus king. Plenty of contenders, but no clear crown. Kansas City is the best barbeque city in the world, but who has the best barbeque in KC?

Devan’s Dozen: BPT Edition
There are many places that can lay claim to the breaded pork tenderloin (BPT for short). Of course there’s Indiana where it was invented, Iowa and Illinois where it grew up, or even up the river in St. Joseph, Missouri where they gave the sandwich its own revolutionary twist. While Kansas City doesn’t have the history of those places, we still have some great BPTs. These are the best pork tenderloins in the metro.

A donut can be whatever it needs to be. The only limit is the imagination. Coming in many shapes and sizes, the possibilities for toppings and fillings feel endless. In Kansas City, donuts cast a wide net. A diversity of offerings from a wide spectrum of purveyors. In honor of National Donut Day, I celebrated the best of each variety.
